From Monday 8th to Friday 12th August, Cleaver Street and Co. will be lucky enough to have the brilliant Keren Fraser, an extremely talented printmaker who creates some incredible fabric pieces (think linen, cushions, wallpapers and all sorts of other brilliant things that interior lovers will adore) showcasing her beautiful works. The closing party will be on Thursday evening, August 11th at Cleaver Street Studio.
A great free night out, you’ll be able to revel in some of her integrated scenes and vignettes. If you’re keen to join us for a night of bubbles and talks with the artist, then head to her website here and sign up to her newsletter here.
We thought we’d as Keren a couple of questions to get to know her business and inspiration a little more:
Thanks so much for chatting to us Keren. Tell us, if you had to choose, what would you say you love most about what you do?
I just love seeing my paintings come to life from the original pencil sketch, all the way to fabric that exists on a chair in a customer’s living room, it still blows my mind and is very humbling all at the same time. I do what I do for my customers, so the whole process is the answer I guess, I love designing each element and then creating the pattern for fabric, wallpaper and table linen. From the creation of an idea to a product living in someone’s home (that they love), it’s pure magic!
We love the magic you create too! So what were the humble beginnings for your company? How did Fledge and Thread become a business?
Fledge and Thread started because we couldn’t find what we were looking for, for our own home. We were looking for soft furnishings that were calming, unique and connected to nature to bring a more grounded feel to our home. Our little girl was 6 months old at the time, and I couldn’t source what I was looking for, so I decided to make our own. I was looking after our two little ones in the day, and painting and designing at night and slowly, Fledge and Thread was born. Now we have a range of Table linen, Wall paper, fabric, tea towels, cushion covers and we are also expanding into other ranges as we grow.
Amazing! Lastly, what can we expect from the upcoming Cleaver Street show?
This is the first exhibition we are holding, so I am just so excited to share what I have been working on for over a year now. You will see our full range of wallpaper, fabric, selected table linen, upholstered furniture, traditional and modern mixed. Basically, my whole creative brain in one space. I so hope you enjoy it and feel a little closer to nature when you visit.
