Who can believe it’s already July? As they say, time flies when you’re having fun, and there’s plenty going on around the Pickle District to keep us on our toes.
Free Coffees Thanks to the New Brew Network App
As you may already be aware, Cleaver Street Coffee Shop is a partner venue with Brew Network; a smart phone app that allows you to send a coffee to a friend or colleague and supports our local cafes, small bars and arts industry. To celebrate the opening of our new cafe and parklet in the evolving Pickle District Arts Precinct we invite you to send a few coffees out to friends and ‘Meet Up In the Pickle’ to check out all the amazing arts venues in the Pickle District!
To get you started, download the app here then use the voucher code PICKLE to send two free coffees to your friends and begin your exploring with a coffee on us! Here’s a map of the Pickle District for you to see all of the fabulous little hidden nooks of our beloved space to get you adventuring.
The Rise of The Micro-Wedding
If there’s one trend around town that we’re loving, it’s the rise of the elopement and the micro-wedding. This month on the blog, we wrote all about why ditching the drama and unnecessary dollars of the big lavish wedding is a great idea, and how it can make your day even more memorable. With our bright airy industrial warehouse event space for hire, let us help you create the perfect magical day that will be all about you and your new bride or groom-to-be rather than all of your third cousins. Have a read here.

Fledge & Thread: Fabric exhibition at Cleaver Street
We’re lucky enough to have the brilliant Keren Fraser, an extremely talented printmaker who creates some incredible fabric pieces (think linen, cushions, wallpapers and all sorts of other brilliant things that interior lovers will adore) showcasing her works next month from 8th to 12th August, with the wrap party on Thursday 11th. A great free night out, you’ll be able to revel in some of her integrated scenes and vignettes. If you’re keen to join us for a night of bubbles and talks with the artist, then head to her website here and sign up to her newsletter here.
Dine In, Baby
We’re now thrilled to announce that our ever-growing all-day menu is dine-in, meaning you can soak up some rays out on our gorgeous outdoor deck area, or snuggle into our cosy coach with your favourite people. And if you still haven’t tried one of our contis or vego heroes yet, then you need to get here pronto to try one of our delicious Miller and Baker filled rolls of goodness or any of our delicious combinations of toasties. If you’re looking for a longer catch up over lunch, why not book one of our meeting tables in the coworking area?
What’s Happening Around the Pickle District?
Stala Contemporary
Late July kicks off ‘Vantage Point’ – a joint solo exhibition by talented Queensland based artists Rose Moxham and Catherine Parker exploring their unique interpretations of the landscapes they grew up around with stunning creativity that will capture every audience. As always, keep an eye on their socials to keep in the loop!
Old Habits Bar – Live music on Old Aberdeen each weekend
Tucked in to Old Aberdeen Street lies one of our favourite neighbourhood bars that is the perfect boozy haunt with constantly rotating local musicians ready to entertain and delight you and your mates. Head to their socials here to keep tabs on their events guaranteed to give you a great night out.
